Stupidest Scam or Spam of the Week

So, what’s the dumbest scam or spam on the Internet this week?

An email from Michael with the title “zo” but the name that shows is Stitchedup22

Not a good start to inspire confidence.

The email is to dozens of people with a similar name – showing that it’s a mass emailing out to probably many thousands of people.

The only content in the email is a link but it is badly formed link so you can see its actually for a roofing company but is trying and failing to look like a Google address.

The message is sent from someone’s iPad and includes a forwarded email which is meaningless.

This is a lazy pathetic spammer who can’t be bothered to send out an email that makes any sense.

What Are Those Time-Wasters Up To?

So, what rubbish emails and calls have there been to Brooklands Radio station in the last few days?

Latest van leasing offers – We’ve told them we don’t have or want any vans but that doesn’t stop these dumb emails.

An offer from a Russian music producer to make any of our projects hugely popular and successful. And they guarantee a defined level of fame and popularity. It’s a sad world where any rubbish can be famous and popular – no talent required, just a lot of money.

Mr Ejire Kelvin who is a diplomat in Nigeria has a consignment of $1.5 million at Orlando airport ready to ship on to us, once we pay the $125 registration and clearance fee by Moneygram. But, as we’re feeling generous, he can keep the consignment.

An APP for keeping staff safe by tracking their every movement and reporting it. Doesn’t sound like safety to me – more like Big Brother is watching you.

Bargain price L’ovita skincare products but only for the next four and a half hours This is just a simple scam.

These people just waste our time and clog up the Internet with rubbish.

The Fake Morrisons Survey Scam

This email claims to be from Morrisons Supermarket and that it’s a survey on customer experience and by filling it in you can win a voucher for $500.

It’s all fake – the link that is supposed to start up the survey doesn’t. All links on the page are fake, even the unsubscribe button is fake – just goes to another advert page.

Morrisons is a UK supermarket so they wouldn’t offer a voucher in American dollars.

The email lists 10 email addresses and says that if my email address is on the list then I’m qualified to participate in the survey.

Well, they’d hardly send me a survey request if they didn’t think I was qualified.

Plus – what qualifications do you need to fill in a survey – maybe a few more brain cells than the sender of the email perhaps.

It is fortunate that so many scammers are really dumb.

Stupidest Scam or Spam of the Week

So, what’s the dumbest scam or spam on the Internet this week?

An email from [email protected] with the title “Simple fruit combo destroys obesity”.

It goes on to claim that this amazing drink is helping millions of people through the Mayo clinic.

Then there are testimonials about how good the product is.

The best one is from Sarah, described as a severely morbidly obese person.

“I’ve taken this for a couple of days and not only I wiping out all of my unwanted fat but also my blood pressure and cholesterol levels are normal since then”.

The instructions say you take the drink only once in the morning and that’s it.

So, two days of drinking fruit juice in the morning has resulted in significant fat loss and has normalised her blood pressure and cholesterol levels which were presumably a serious problem as she was morbidly obese.

What an amazing product!

Or perhaps just amazing that people fall for this kind of drivel.

Any scammer with half a brain would want the claims to be more realistic rather than an instant cure for all problems.

What Are Those Time-Wasters Up To?

So, what rubbish emails and calls have there been to Brooklands Radio station in the last few days?

Apple offering 3 months of free unlimited downloads on ITunes as long as we verify our credentials and there’s a link to some website at sprinkleparky.com – obviously a scam to get our login information.

A financial services company in Bahrain wants to finance our company or any that we recommend and ask us to send them our business plan or project summary. What are they really after? Maybe British company details for a corporate scam or just contact details they can sell on. Pathetic.

An email promising a free Tesco voucher – but the email address is brilliantmarketing.eu which means it’s just a scam looking for leads.

A Mr. Roland Perret , head of luggage storage facilities at New Orleans airport wants to send us a shipment abandoned by a diplomat from London and containing a lot of money. But he wants 30% and an upfront processing fee of $3,700. There is no shipment of course, just greedy evil people wanting to take money from anyone they can.

Special offer – £500 off laser eye surgery. Wow – what a bargain . I must get laser eye surgery immediately for me and everyone I’ve ever met. Can you imagine someone wanting eye surgery because it’s on special offer? Perhaps the surgeon operates on two people at once to reduce the price?

These people just waste our time and clog up the Internet with rubbish.
