Stupidest Scam or Spam of the Week

So, what’s the dumbest scam or spam on the Internet this week?

An email titled ‘I Need Your Help Please’ from a Miss Vivian Steve.

It starts “Dear God’s Select” which is weird.

Her father is critically ill and under political asylum and being treated by a doctor James Bond.

James Bond indeed – she’s having a laugh.

She has an inheritance of millions of Euros which she wants me to look after for her and I will get 30% of it.

The letter is signed off with Vivian Setve – so she doesn’t know how to spell her own name.

I know that scammers deliberately put dumb things in their scam messages at times so they don’t get too many replies, but this is ridiculous.

Could anyone believe this?

Stupidest Scam or Spam of the Week

So, what’s the dumbest scam or spam on the Internet this week?

An email titled “Forget Diet and Exercise”

And goes on “Melissa’s Plan Finally Revealed”

Then comes the kicker – “Melissa lost 17 pounds in a month. See the results here”.

If someone named Melissa lost 17 pounds in a month, then either she cut an arm off or was dead. Not possible otherwise.

The scammer is too stupid to realise that modest claims are much easier to fool people with than ridiculous impossible exaggerations.

Stupidest Scam or Spam of the Week

So, what’s the dumbest scam or spam on the Internet this week?

The title of the email in shouty lettering is

Outraged Seniors DEMAND The Coast Guard release new “Fountain of Youth” Drink.

That tells you everything you need to know about how pathetic the scam is going to be.

The story is that for one Coast Guard unit in San Diego, the older coast guardsmen that once struggled to keep up with the younger guys in the unit are now making mincemeat of the ‘young bucks’ in head-to-head physical fitness tests.

So, apparently this stuff is so good that it not only makes older people able to perform as young ones but in fact better than the younger ones. Yeah, right!.

The older guys in the unit have supposedly been part of secret testing of a new doctor formulated fountain of youth drink.

Part of a new scam sadly.

And a truly stupid one at that.

Stupidest Scam or Spam of the Week

So, what’s the dumbest scam or spam on the Internet this week?

This one is from someone calling him or herself” Stitched Up” – not something to inspire confidence.

Instead of hiding who the message was sent to – the recipients names are there on show – hundreds of them similar to my email address, telling me this message has potentially gone out to many thousands if not millions of people.

The dumbest thing is that the link they want us to click on is written wrongly so shows as program code rather than a link. There isn’t anything to click on.

This idiot even left part of a previous email at the bottom of this one.

What a moron.

Stupidest Scam or Spam of the Week

An email from Amelia Lily ([email protected]) titled ‘I am thinking of you’

This is clearly intended to be romantic and supposedly contains her attached photos.

It warns – see the photos but quickly remove them.

That suggests they are naughty photos.

But the desired effect is cancelled by the fact that the scammer is too dumb to hide the addresses of the recipients so you can see it’s been sent to hundreds of men. The names are all similar to mine which suggests it’s one of a set of probably many thousands of such emails sent out.

Romantic – I don’t think so.

Just dumb!
